Klyr (“we”, “our”, “us”) is an AI-powered mental wellness tool that helps people reframe anxious thoughts. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with care and transparency. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@klyrmind.app.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, password (stored as a secure hash), and optionally your first name. We never store your password in plain text.
Thought inputs and rewrites
The thoughts you type into Klyr are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate responses. We store your inputs and the AI-generated rewrites in our database so you can access them in your journal. This content is private to you and protected by row-level security.
Personal memory context (Pro)
For Pro subscribers, we extract and store recurring details from your inputs (such as people you mention or common themes) to personalize future responses. This data is stored securely and is only used to improve your experience within Klyr.
Usage data
We track how many times you use the app each day to enforce usage limits. We also track your usage streak to display it to you. We do not sell or share this data.
Payment information
If you subscribe to Klyr Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details — Stripe handles this securely. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your plan.
Device and session data
Guest users are assigned a temporary session ID stored in your browser's local storage. This is used only to track your daily usage limit and is never linked to your identity.
We do not use your thought inputs or personal content for advertising targeting, to train AI models, or to share with third parties for their own purposes.
OpenAI
Your thought inputs are sent to OpenAI's API to generate responses. OpenAI processes this data according to their Privacy Policy. We use OpenAI's API in a way that does not allow your data to be used for model training.
Supabase
Your account data, journal entries, and usage statistics are stored securely on Supabase, a managed database platform. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Stripe
Payment processing for Pro subscriptions is handled by Stripe. Their Privacy Policy governs how they handle your payment data.

Free users of Klyr may see advertisements served by Google. These ads help us keep Klyr free. We do not use your thought inputs or journal content for ad targeting. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other sites. Pro subscribers see no ads. If you are in the EU or California, you have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information used for advertising.
We retain your account data and journal entries for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page — this permanently deletes all of your data from our systems within 30 days. Guest session data (usage counts) is automatically cleared after 24 hours.

We take security seriously. Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. We use row-level security in our database so that your data is only accessible to you. Passwords are never stored in plain text. Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure — if you discover a security issue, please email hello@klyrmind.app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use of Klyr after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects when it was last updated.
